 note = {JGSS は、General Social Survey (GSS)に範を取り、国際比較を視野に入れているが、日本社会と人々の意識や行動の実態を把握することに主眼をおいている。調査対象者の世帯構成、就業や生計の状況、両親や配偶者の職業、対象者の政治意識、家族観、人生観、死生観、宗教、余暇活動、犯罪被害など広範囲の調査事項を網羅し、さまざまな問題関心から分析ができる調査データの構築を目指している。

JGSS-2015 は、面接調査と留置調査を併用した。JGSS-2015には、対象者の属性に関する設問（対象者の学歴、専門学校・専修学校への通学経験、現在の収入源、年収、世帯収入、婚姻上の地位、世帯構成、兄弟姉妹の数、15歳の頃の居住地、自分の位置する階層、現職・初職・前職、結婚の意欲、希望する結婚年齢、20歳頃の居住地、専門学校・専修学校に通った時期など）、調査対象者の意識や行動に関する設問（生活習慣、団体への所属、ネットワーク、余暇活動、情報機器の利用、環境問題、人間観・信頼観、生死観、信仰、宗教活動、家族・ジェンダー、政治や政府に対する意識と評価、社会階層、健康・医療関係、法律関係、居住環境・地域環境、幸福感・満足感、外国人の増加と受け入れ、東日本大震災関連設問など）に、EASS 2014/2015「Work Life」モジュール（転職・終身雇用、経営家族主義・資産・相続、就業状況、世帯構成など）が含まれている。

個票データの入手方法はアーカイブにより異なりますので、それぞれのホームページをご覧ください。, The Japanese General Social Surveys (JGSS) Project is a Japanese version of the General Social Survey (GSS) project closely replicating the original GSS of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. It provides data for analyses of Japanese society, attitudes, and behaviors, which makes possible international comparisons. 

JGSS-2015 includes two components, a face to face interview and a self-administered questionnaire. In JGSS-2015, respondents were asked about their demographic and background information (education, employment, employment history,  income, income source, marital status, number of sibligs, family and household composition, household income), their attitudes and behaviors (habitual behaviors, membership in organizations, leisure, trust in people and institutions, religion, views on family, gender and politics, ICT use, enviroment, happiness, life satisfaction, foreign workers, social class, neighborhood environment, and Great East Japan Earthquake) as well as a module from East Asian Social Survey (EASS): EASS 2014/2015 Work Life in East Asia (e.g. employment history, lifetime employment, entrepreneurship, inheritance, and household composition).
