It provides data for analyses of Japanese society, attitudes, and behaviors, which makes possible international comparisons. JGSS-2012 includes two components, a face to face interview and a self-administered questionnaire. In JGSS-2012, respondents were asked about their demographic and background information (education, employment, employment history, income, income source, marital status, number and age of children, number of sibligs, family and household composition, household income), their attitudes and behaviors (habitual behaviors, membership in organizations, leisure, trust in people and institutions, religion, views on family, gender and politics, social class, their neighborhood environment, English education and volunteering, and Great East Japan Earthquake) as well as a module from East Asian Social Survey (EASS): EASS 2012 Network Social Capital in East Asia. There are two forms of self-administered questionnaire (Form A and Form B) in JGSS-2012. While Form A mainly incudes JGSS routine questions, Form B includes questions on the 2012 EASS Network module.
